LEADERSHIP

It's a myth to think that most pets end up at shelters because they have behavior problems. The truth is, most pets are turned in to shelters because of changes in peoples’ lives, which means there are lots of great pets at shelters!

Reasons People Surrender 1. Moving 2. Landlord Issues 3. Cost of pet care 4. No time for pet 5. Inadequate facilities 6. Too many pets in the home 7. Pet Illness 8. Personal Problems 9. Biting 10. No homes for littermates

There are often alternatives to surrendering your pet to a shelter.  It is the goal of Misty Eyes to provide alternatives to such surrenders. If you think you may need to surrender your pet, please contact Cherie Fox, Director of Animal Operations, for helpful options.  (Cherie@MistyEyes.org)

Please note: Misty Eyes requires a $50 owner surrender fee. This fee helps cover the cost of animal intake.  For more information, please contact us at 317-858-8022. Please leave a message; an Animal Care team member will contact you as soon as possible.
